The Timon and Pumbaa Movie

The Timon and Pumbaa Movie is a 2008 computer animated hand-drawn traditionally comedy film directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, produced by Brad Bird and Raja Gosnell, written by Tom McGrath, John Sanford, Mark Osborne and Luc Besson and story by John Musker and Ron Clements.

The film features the voice cast of Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, David Wenham, Anthony LaPaglia, David Cross, Michael Keaton, Claudia Christian, Jacqueline Obradors and Jason Alexander. The film was taking 14 years to make. With the technique, VCL Tata animated this movie would later made Roadside Romeo.

This was Walden Media's first hand drawn animated feature with Walt Disney Pictures. The film was released on November 7, 2008 with the same year as Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

Plot

The film introduces Timon and Pumbaa enjoying time. But then the good time begins when Timon and Pumbaa meet their friends, Zazu, a hornbill, Jeb, a grumpy old goat, two dogs including Jock, a Scottish terrier and Trusty, a bloodhound, Tenderfoot, a horse, three pigs, Petey, Ollie and Molly, four human friends, Helga, Audrey, Uncle Tulio and Annie with her son Hogarth, Cody and David and Tulio's nephew Melody a sweet girl who is Helga's daughter.

One Day, Timon and Pumbaa were chased by four stray dogs and escaped, but Timon and Pumbaa woke up Reggie, a bulldog who likes killing people, chases them and Timon outsmarted him by throwing times at him. Zazu catches them walking and telling them what to know about this.

Pumbaa had spotted a wagon and takes it to Timon, who agrees. Then one night, the guy who caught Timon and Pumbaa knocking down a trash chases them out which Timon had another idea. They meet a horse named Lightning who helps them find food in grocery stores and grubs from the other grounds of the jungle, with the help of Lemurs and mice carrying things.

Zazu says to Timon that he better get Pumbaa's stuff tomorrow which he agrees. While Annie's kids are having fun, Timon gets all of Pumbaa's things which he made a mark on a mud and he accidentally stole Jeb's cans for winter. Zazu and the others were wasn't pleased about Jeb so Timon agrees to have food for the winters.

That night, Timon and Pumbaa woke up Reggie again with loud noises and chases them down the alleyway. Pumbaa braveley attacks Reggie which frightens the Bulldog and fled. Timon berates Pumbaa for getting him into trouble but sees Pumbaa's bravery. Scar, a lion sees them and tells the hyenas to get the two.

That evening, Scar attached the chain to Reggie's collar so he will made a prank. Timon and Pumbaa invite friends for the party since he build his made shift house.

That Night, Helga have a talk with Audrey. The next morning, when Pumbaa tells Zazu that he tells him that Timon had taking Pumbaa's stuff which angers Pumbaa and blames Timon for taking his stuff in which the chain attaches to the wheel which Reggie's collar. Timon had forgiven Pumbaa and walks home only to be stepped on squeaky toys which woke up Reggie. Pumbaa is chased by Reggie while the wagon full of stuff taking Timon which begins the mishap with Pumbaa being chased by Reggie wrecking the neighbourhood with Timon holding on top of it and Pumbaa fighting Reggie and his leg were caught on the chain and pushes Reggie over with the chain breaking free. The rocket that was on the end explodes and making it go faster with Pumbaa grabbing a chain and the ride went up the sky and went down as Pumbaa's hooves caught free as the wagon were destroyed sending Timon and Pumbaa to safe ground.

Timon have been told off by Pumbaa who destoryed his stuff and have an aurgements with his friends which hurts their feelings and leaves. Timon forgives Pumbaa and everyone else be nice again. Later, Timon and Pumbaa were having fun with his friends.

The plan works when Timon and Pumbaa distract the rabid dogs.

Trivia

• Disney and Walden Media were working together to start an animation deal in February 2007 before the teaser trailer for the film was released in March.
• Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella have both recorded their lines together.
• In the trailer, the scene were Timon and Pumbaa were chased by Reggie is slightly different.
• When Timon and Pumbaa were walking down the streets, The Pizza Planet Truck appears.
• Claudia Christian, Jacqueline Obradors, Kevin Kline and Jennifer Aniston all recorded their lines for the characters.
• The same dog that chase Timon and Pumbaa resembles Reggie from Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure.
• Pumbaa is seen pulling the wagon with his hooves. Most likely humans used to pull wagons.

Goofs/Errors

• When Timon and Pumbaa were aurguing, the chain appears from nowhere.
