Smurfs: The Lost Village is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated adventure-comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation and animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks. It is based primarily on The Smurfs comic book series created by Belgian comics artist Peyo, and is a reboot film, completely unrelated to Sony Pictures Animation's live-action/animated film series. Written by Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon, it is being directed by Kelly Asbury.

The film stars Demi Lovato as Smurfette, Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy Smurf, Danny Pudi as Brainy Smurf, Joe Manganiello as Hefty Smurf and Rainn Wilson as Gargamel. In the story, a mysterious map prompts Smurfette, Brian, Clumsy and Hefty to find a Lost Village, inhabited by SmurfStorm (voiced by Michelle Rodriguez), SmurfBlossom (voiced by Ellie Kemper), SmurfLilly (voiced by Ariel Winter), SmurfWillow (voiced by Julia Roberts) and many more, before Gargamel does. The film is set for an April 7, 2017 release.

PlotEdit

Smurfette (Demi Lovato) attempts to find her purpose in the village. When she encounters a creature similar to her in the Forbidden Forest who drops a mysterious map, she sets off with her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an adventure to find the Lost Village before the evil wizard Gargamel does.
