Summary Edit

The Rivera family is forced by court order to give up their mystical objects of power until they start acting like a family but then when the mayor saw they needed them to stop evil, and he gave their powers back. The funny thing was their power clothes were switched (Manny has Roldofo's boots, Roldofo has Grandpapi's hat, and Grandpapi has Manny's belt), so Manny was "El Tig-era", Roldofo was "White Loco", and Grandpapi was "Puma Tigre". Then they figure out each other's powers and then switch to their regular powers. After they defeat all the villains, Frida kisses Manny, and then he says "Familia forever!" ending the series.

Traveling the world Edit

Meanwhile, in 1943 in New York City, Manny Rivera is rejected for World War II military recruitment because of various health and physical problems.

Between August 1–2 of 1943, a race riot occurred in Harlem, New York City, after a white police officer shot and wounded Robert Bandy, an African American soldier who inquired about a woman's arrest. Bandy, who attempted to have the officer release a woman charged with disorderly conduct, reportedly hit the officer, and was shot while trying to flee from the scene. A crowd of about 3,000 people gathered around Brady and the officer as they attempted to enter a hospital for treatment, when someone in the crowd incorrectly reported that Brady had been killed. A riot ensued that lasted for two days and led to between $250,000–$5,000,000 in damages, nearly 600 arrests, and six deaths. Frida Suárez in New York City Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia ultimately restored order over the borough on August 2 with the recruitment of several thousand officers and volunteer forces to contain the rioters.

Underlying causes of the riot stemmed from a disparity between the values of American democracy and the conditions of black citizens, strained and exemplified by World War II. Discriminatory practices in employment and city services created tension among African Americans, as they sought to reject their state of living. Segregated in the Army, Bandy came to represent black soldiers and Collins came to represent white suppression to Harlemites. Culturally, the riot inspired Ralph Ellison for the "theatrical climax" of Invisible Man, winner of the 1953 National Book Award, and artist William Johnson to represent the "oppressed and debased community" in his 1943–1944 work, Moon Over Harlem. While attending an exhibition of future technologies with his friend James Gordon, Manny and Frida again attempts to enlist. Overhearing Manny's conversation with Barnes about wanting to help in the war, Alfred Pennyworth allows Manny to enlist. He is recruited into the Scientific Strategic Reserve as part of a "super-soldier" experiment under Erskine, Col. Chester Phillips, and British agent Peggy Carter. Phillips is unconvinced by Erskine's claims that Manny is the right person for the procedure, but relents after seeing Manny commit an act of self-sacrificing bravery. The night before the treatment, Erskine reveals to Frida that Schmidt underwent an imperfect version of the procedure and suffered permanent side-effects.

Back in Europe, Schmidt and Dr. Arnim Zola successfully harness the energies of the Tesseract, intending to use the power to fuel Zola's inventions, mounting an offensive that will change the world. Schmidt discovered Erskine's location and dispatches an assassin to kill him. In the U.S., Erskine subjects Rogers to the super-soldier treatment, injecting him with a special serum and dosing him with "vita-rays". After Rogers emerges from the experiment taller and more muscular, one of the attendees kills Erskine, revealing himself to be Schmidt's assassin, Heinz Kruger. Rogers pursues and captures Kruger, but the assassin commits suicide by cyanide capsule before he can be interrogated.
