  • The episode pays homage to the giant robots or "mecha" genre.
  • The giant robots in this episode are parodies of famous giant robots:
    • Mega 5DI parodies Optimus Prime from the Transformers series.
    • Mechasaurus parodies Mechagodzilla from the Godzilla series.
  • If one looks closely in the crowd of police trying to block off the giant robots, you can see two female police officers that resemble Natsumi Tsujimoto and Miyuki Kobayakawa from You're Under Arrest.
  • The final battle between Mega 5DI and Mechasaurus is a homage to a scene from Rugrats in Paris: The Movie.
  • When Mechasaurus falls into the river after being knocked off a bridge by Mega 5DI, the Goofy holler can be heard.
